Ol’doinyo Lengai stands at 2,878 meters above the Soda Ash Lake Natron making the only active volcano in the world that erupt natrocarbonatite lava. Its summit remains gently active and molten ash is visible from its peak. The Mountain is located in Ngorongoro highlands northwest of Arusha city. Mountain Ol’doinyo Lengai derives its name from the “Maa” language (Maasai) means The Holy “Mountain of God”.
The Mountain frequently does minor eruptions and form cone like structures to its crater base. The cone blocks have been named by geologist and naturalist who have visited Lengai for their geological studies all over around the world. While on the summit of Mountain Ol’doinyo Lengai one can sight clearly the Soda Lake Natron which accommodates and consist of good nesting sites for different bird species especially the Flamingos, pelicans and geese more than 350 different types are recorded to date.
Ol’doinyo Lengai makes a thrilling overnight trekking on its pyramid-shaped. Tour to the nearby Lake Natron and the Bushmen and Maasai land can be arrange.

ITINERARIES .
Mount Oldoinyo Lengai
3 Days / 2 Nights Itinerary.
Day 1:
Depart Moshi or Arusha at 7:00 a.m and drive to Ngaresero village (Lake Natron) with packed lunch. This is about 8 hours of driving. Dinner and overnight at the designated camp.
Day 2:
At very early morning 1:00 a.m. drive to the base of the Ol’doinyo Lengai mountain to start the climb. Reach the summit during Sunrise and spend a few minutes there before coming down to the base of the mountain. From there, clients will be transferred by jeep to Kamakia camp for shower and rest. Dinner and overnight at the designated camp.
Day 3:
Breakfast. Drive back to Moshi/ Arusha.

10 Days / 9 Nights Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport I will come to pick you and drive to Moshi Keys annex hotel for overnight stay. One double b/b.
Day 2: Drive to Nainokanoka where you will organise donkeys and armed park ranger/ Maasai guide for walking next day. Dinner and overnight at Nainokanoka village.
Day 3:Start walking to Embulbuli village. Dinner and overnight at Mbulibuli village.
Day 4: Proceed with walking to Empakai crater Dinner and overnight at Empakai crater.
Day 5: Breakfast. Walk with donkey, donkey riders and Maasai Guides to Naiyobi. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 6: Breakfast. Proceed with walking to the Mt. Ol’doinyo Lengai Base camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Breakfast. Start climbing to the summit of Ol’doinyo Lengai. After lunch explore the summit of Ol’doinyo Lengai. Dinner and overnight at the rim of Ol’doinyo Lengai crater.
Day 8: Breakfast. Descend down to the base camp whereby you will be picked up with vehicle to Kamakia campsite for lunch and shower. There after drive along lake Natron for sight seeing short tour. Dinner and overnight at Kamakia campsite.
Day 9: Breakfast. This is a full day of doing cultural program by visiting different Maasai families at their homes. Dinner and overnight at Kamakia Camp.
Day 10: Breakfast. Drive back to Moshi Keys Annex Hotel via Snake Park for lunch.
